The Annual Training Conference is the VAHSA's signature event, held each spring. It draws 100s of Head Start staff, families and community supporters for 2 1/2 days of training and networking.

Keynote Speaker - Tuesday April 2, 2019

Walter S. Gilliam is the Director of The Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy and Professor of Child Psychiatry and Psychology at the Yale University Child Study Center. He is a member of the board of directors for ZERO TO THREE, Child Care Aware of America, and the Irving Harris Foundation; a research fellow of the National Institute for Early Education Research; and former Senior Advisor to the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Dr. Gilliam is co-recipient of the prestigious 2008 Grawemeyer Award in Education for the coauthored book A Vision for Universal Preschool Education. His scholarly writing addresses early childhood care and education programs, school readiness, and developmental assessment of young children. His work frequently has been covered in major national and international news outlets, and he actively provides consultation to state and federal decision-makers in the U.S. and other countries.

Virginia Head Start Association Cancellation Policy - A submitted registration is a commitment to pay. No refunds will be issued, though you may transfer your registration to another person at no additional charge.

Notice of Recording and Individual Release Policy - Events could be recorded by the event organizers or event participants and you may appear in the resulting recording. 

Payment Options: We accept payment online by credit card through Moolah. We also accept payment by mail to VAHSA, P. O. Box 4, Ashland, VA 23005.

Online Payment Notes: You do not have to have a Moolah Account to pay by credit card. Just choose the credit card option when asked. Please be sure to use the correct billing address when you pay by credit card.

Pay By Mail Notes: If paying by mail, fees are due by the time of the conference. If your fiscal systems do not permit pre-payment, then you must submit a purchase order. All fees are due within two weeks of the end of the conference or a late fee of 3% will be applied.
