Read Across America DayRead Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss. It is sponsored by the National Education Association. People Inc. in Abingdon Virginia, participated this year and had distinguished guest speakers, Dr. Jerry Jones of Emory and Henry College and Delegate Israel O’Quinn, reading favorites such as If You Give a Moose a Muffin.
