In this virtual professional development series presented by the National Center on Health, Behavioral Health, and Safety recipients will learn how trauma attuned practices centralizes relationships to address the disorganizing force of trauma that can ripple through a system.

PRESENTERS:

Dr. Vilma Reyes

Dr. Vilma Reyes is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF, Child Trauma Research Program. Since 2009, she has been providing Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) services, national training, clinical supervision, consultation and coordination of community-based mental health outreach services and evaluation. Dr. Reyes has years of experience in Head Start as a teacher, case manager and mental health consultant. She is an immigrant from Peru and is committed to equity, inclusion, and social justice for historically oppressed communities.

 

 

Dr. Miriam Dimmler, PhD

Dr. Miriam Dimmler, PhD, Professor, Associate Director, Community Mental Health Initiative Director, Child Trauma Research Program (CTRP) University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Miriam Dimmler is a bilingual and bicultural clinical community psychologist. She leads training and implementation in community agencies on the evidence-based, culturally tailored, trauma-informed early childhood interventions models which were developed and tested at CTRP and adopted nationally in a range of early childhood settings and across disciplines. 

 

Gina Samson, PsyD

Dr. Gina Samson completed her Doctorate in Psychology and her Masters in School Psychology. Dr. Samson has worked in a variety of hospital, community, and school-based settings implementing mental health and trauma-centered interventions aimed at helping children, families, and systems heal. Dr. Samson is particularly passionate about the wellness of young children and their caregivers and has developed an expertise in infant and early childhood mental health. She is a rostered provider of Child-Parent Psychotherapy.
